The Visconti-Sforza Tarot Brushesby ~Dasha444

~These are 20 brushes made from the Major Arcana of the Visconti-Sforza Tarot deck.

~The Visconti-Sforza tarot cards originated in Milan, Italy around the 1450's and consisted of only 74 cards. The missing cards are The Devil, The Tower, three of swords and knight of coins. The Visconti-Sforza deck, like all the 15th Century Italian cards in the Visconti group, are missing the Devil and Tower card. It is possible that those two cards were never in the Visconti decks, but more likely because they were considered distasteful or unlucky, so they were removed at some point.
~ Six cards were also replaced or added to the deck at some early point in it's existence: Strength, Temperance, The Star, The Moon, The Sun and The World cards are clearly not done by the original artist.
